This is a fantastic coastal and farmland walk just north of Auckland, the walk is in the Shakespear regional park on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula.
You can start this walk from Bruce Harvey Drive with in the park and follow the easy walking track out across the open farmland to the coast, or my preffered route from army bay on the left side of the Peninsula, this walk takes you past the army shooting range if they are shooting on the range you will not be able to proceed this way.
Take this walk on the out going tide as you will be following the coast the whole way around to Te Haruhi Bay. Around the end of the peninsula and about a quarter of the way to the end of the walk is a gun emplacement in the side of the cliff you could go though this up some steps and up to the top of the cliff but may be closed of by now.
This walk is not an easy walk as you are walking over jagged rocks but it is for sure a good walk around the peninsula.
