    Bowentown

Bowentown is located on the Northern headland of the Tauranga harbour, this place is accessed by driving along waihi beach on the southern flanks of the Coromandel Peninsula. This scenic trip starts through the Karangahake gorge and driving through to waihi, a little gold mining town just in from the east coast of the north island the mine is still in operation today.

Once you are on the coast road you drive through till the end of the road and arrive at bowentown the beach in front of the car park is small and you can launch a small boat here of the beach.

There are bush walks dotted on the western side of the headland and a secluded beach although a long walk to get there. Drive up to the top car park and you can walk up the eastern side to the very top you get a 360 view around the whole area well worth the steep climb up there.
